    Default Invalid Page Fault problem

I am using Windows 98SE. When I run a program it crashes with the
    following error message:

"... caused an invalid page fault in
    module <unknown> at 0000:00000009.
    Registers:

What is causing this and is there a remedy? Thanks for any help.

if that happens if you try to run any application...
then your memory many be bad.
run a memory test or substitute RAM

if it is only one specific app...

Invalid page faults are usually caused by two programs trying to write
to the same memory address real or virtual. You may have two programs
running that don't like each other as one has not been written well.
1st thing to do is trim your startup group of unneeded programs as
    per,
