    Default SP2 Help

    Hey guys, I'm having trouble with using the Service Pack 2 for Windows. When i download and install the service pack, it completely knocks out my internet. I use a netgear wireless network card and after the SP2 installs, i cant use the internet at all even though i can still connect to my wireless router. I tried opening a port and that temporarily allowed me to use it but then it went back out. I used system restore to get my computer back to before i installed the sp2 and the internet pops right back up. Do you guys have any suggestions for what i can do besides loading an OS with SP2 already loaded?

    hi
    after installing the SP2 go in Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services

    try to stop "Windows Firewall" service and see what happens

    I tried that too, sorry i forgot to give all the details. I took down the firewall and every security that would limit my access to the internet but it still just would not let me in. I even called my internet service provider and he ran me through some steps like renewing my IP and just stuff that had no effect. I dont know, maybe its just one of those things that happens on certain computers. If you guys have other suggestions, ill be happy to try them out. Thanks for the help.

    Try to reinstall the networking device drivers from netgear (don't use Windows drivers)
