Datalink Mode ( DOT4 Printer errors )
I have loaded Windows 2000 Pro onto my system. I have installed the HP V40
Multi-function printer to this setup. When I try to print I get an error as
follows:
There was an error found when printing the document "Test Page" to DOT4_001.
Do you want to retry or cancel the job?
You get the error if you select retry and nothing if you cancel. I have
found a document on the knowledgebase ( 316079 ) but it is of little help.
It states to move the printer onto the parallel port. How do I move a USB
device to use the parallel port. My PC is a PIII with 512mb RAM and 120gb
hard drive. I hope someone out there can help me with this.

Have you installed the V40 drivers? If so, go to the hp.com site and
see if newer ones are available.
