Please help us to help you. What hardware are you running (mostly
tell us what CPU you have and how much RAM)? Exactly how slow is
"really slow."
Put some numbers on these things and we'll try to help.

Re: Comp is really slow
Hello ken, it is a Dell Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 1.70GHz 1.70Ghz, 128 MB of
Ram and well when I say Slow I mean when I double click internet explorer it
takes awhile for it to come up ( not the web page just the program)and when u
try to close the program down it starts from the top and slowly closes from
top to bottom it happens with every program I use like winamp for example.
When I say slow I mean try and compare it to a computer from 5-6 years ago
like a celron 600 which was my old comp to this one and it seems to be alot
slower I cant figure it out. PLz help with this.

Has this system always run slow or is it a recent problem? With 128 MB of
RAM, it's no surprise that your system runs slow. The processor is
certainly fast enough but the minimum amount of RAM Microsoft recommends for
XP is 256 MB and at times their minimum recommendations don't even cut it.
